It is well-known that people and companies usually highlight themselves in the most pleasant way to improve their image. To achieve this, they will most likely share their success stories.
At the same time, a familiar idiom says that smart people educate themselves not on their personal mistakes, but on mistakes of other. And you must have enough courage not only to recognise your mistake, but starting speaking about it publicly to avoid others from repeating it.
This concept is well-known in the world as “Fuck-up Nights” concept, but in U-LEAD we’ve decided to integrate it into the decentralisation reform agenda.
A series of “Zrad-Vechir” (Ukrainian “Зрадвечір”) events has started in December 2018 and were continued to additional events in various Ukrainian cities. Each of the event included a representative of a business who warmed up the audience and also was an introduction to such a format to the audience, several speakers from local Oblast (region) of the country and an invited guest from another Oblast.
NB: the name of the events derived from Ukrainian traditional spelling of evening events and celebrations (...-вечір) and a transliterated form of an action that described an action of perfidy ("Зрада") and became famous in Ukrainian Internet users as a synonym of a failure.

“Zrad-Vechir” events were organised by U-LEAD with Europe: Ukraine – Local Empowerment, Accountability and Development Programme, a multi-donor action of the European Union and its member states Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Poland and Sweden.
